Video 12: Top 12 Resources for Niche Research
Got Brain Freeze? Having a hard time coming up with ideas for niches? Here is a video I uploaded to YouTube a while back on some resources for Niche Research.
In case you don't want to watch the video, here are the sites I'm talking about:
- About.com - One of the best places to brainstorm ideas
- Alexa.com - You can use their Top 500 list to see which sites are popular
- Amazon.com - The "New Releases" area here is a goldmine
- Clickbank - We talked about this one already… go to the "Marketplace"
- eBay Pulse - This is a current "Most Popular" List on eBay
- eBay Pop - Great place to see what the latest trends on eBay are
- Google Directory - Take a look at their categories to get some good ideas
- Google Product Search - get a list of actual products being sold by "real people". (this was formerly called "Froogle.com")
- Google Trends - In the video I called it Google Zeitgeist. It has now been renamed Google Trends. Go to their Top 100 list to see what people are searching for "Right Now"
- Magazines.com - Too lazy to go to the local bookstore? This is the online alternative
- Thomas Register - Great place to dig up unexploited niches… albeit in the industrial / commercial niches
- Yahoo Buzz Index - Similar to the Google Trends tool. Check out what people are actually searching for on Yahoo.
